The Disgaea series has always been close to my heart. I’m a sucker for tactic games in general, from Final Fantasy Tactics to La Pucelle to Record of Agarest War (okay, technically I ordered the latter largely because of the boobie mousepad, but you get the idea). But the character design of Disgaea has always appealed to me far more than the others…the annoying-yet-somehow-still-endearing hubris of Laharl, the always loveable Etna, and, of course, the Prinny.

For those of you  that haven’t played Disgaea, the Prinnies serve as your cannon fodder, loyal minions to Etna that will throw themselves, literally, in harm’s way. Prinnies are giant penguins with bat wings that pepper their conversation with words like ‘dood’ and use giant serrated knives as weapons. Oh, and they explode when you throw them.

Trust me, it’s cuter than it sounds.

They had an opportunity to star in their own PSP game, Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?, which has spawned a sequel, trailer embedded below. I am incredibly torn by said trailer. It's sophomoric, goofy otakusploitation. And it kind of makes me want the game. And hate myself for wanting it.

I mean, stolen panties? Really?
